does anybody know if the beeb are covering todays game in hd? i cant find it on the listings on virgin

ive never called them before for their typos and everything and do enjoy the coverage when it isn't ray french. i think the presenting team is good with claire baldwins obvious enthusiasm to learn more and more about the game, i think this translates to newcomers very well.

but to not show either of the semis in hd.

it just screams second rate for us as a sport, yes we are second to football, but to a bunch of kids shows, stick them on cbeebies or whatever

Blurry vision watching it in SD compared to the sport shown in HD on Sky.

Clare Balding as great as ever. Dave Woods and John Kear were a top team (I do love Woods' square in the air). Millward and Noble are as good as you can get and Robbie Hunter-Paul is always enthusiastic. Although I didn't watch it, it then gets followed by red button discussion.

Like the above i thought it was quite good one or two dodgy camera shots but again i did like Claire Balding, she is quite suprisingly (or not..!!!) streets ahead of world cup winning hooker mike stephenson in her summerising of a game.

The only thing wrong with yestedays coverage was a close up of Tommy leuluai's boss eyes....

Same as every year. There are always other things going on, we shouldn't put our sport on hold for others.

We play games on Friday nights when 10million people are watching Eastenders and Coronation Street (more than will watch the Community Shield game I would expect). Do we start playing at 8am on a Saturday so we don't clash with anything?

Yes it is correct that a semi final of the most important cup competition in world RL clashes with what is essentially a pre-season football friendly.

I've been one of the first to criticise the RFL in the past, but not quite sure what they've done wrong here. Seems a bit draconian calling for them to be sacked or stand down.

BBC are very poor with Rugby League coverage. To be fair to Sky though, they're very good. Quite a lot of games in 3D now.
