Hi all,
I want to get sky sports with virgin media but they want an extra £28 for the complete collection and I only want it to watch the rugby. They say I can just purchase one channel. Does anyone know whether rugby league is just on sky sports 1 or 2 or is it on both depending on game and day it's played?

Super League is usually on SS1 or SS2 but if there are a lot of major events on any particular weekend it is sometimes moved to SS3 or SS4, The Championship is usually on SS3 or SS4.

As said it's mainly Championship matche on Sky Sports 3 and 4. BT Vision offer Sky Sports 1 and 2 and ESPN for I think £11 a month - great value.

Sack it altogether mate, waste of money.

Its cheaper to nip to the local and have 3/4 pints a match. Was considering it, but like you said above, £28 a month, £336 a year just to have the sky sports. I wouldnt spend that much going to watch the matches of my choice.

There will be weeks where you will be out / on holiday / working / other commitments and wont be able to watch the match, and other weeks where its, for example, Catalans Vs Harlequins and would choose to watch something else.

Save your dough, go the pub and watch the games you wanna watch.

That's ok unless your local landlord is a miserable scouse git who claims there's "no call" for the rugby league to be on, and when I pointed out that actually there was, as I was asking for it on, he just walked off........

The Sky Sports Collection (SS1, 2, 3 and 4) is £22.50 with Virgin Media, not £28.

I thought that would be a good deal too until i read the small print on a leaflet i was delivering for them. It's £11 per month for either SS1 or SS2, if you want both of them it will cost about £18.

A freind of mine has just been installed with BT Vision and he said he is paying £11 for Sky Sports 1 and 2 and also ESPN.

Both Sky and Virgin are rip offs. To pay £22.50 for only 2 sports channels is scandalise.I was with Virgin it used to cost me £27.50 for Sky sports,i also received espn plus other sports channels.I hardly ever watched.The downside with Virgin, is you can't interact on the red button.I have cancelled all packages with Virgin now,it is expense i can do with out.

I'm contemplating switching to BT Vision. A very, very reasonable price for Sky Sports 1 and 2 and also ESPN (which is £5-£10 alone with Sky). I only really watch 1 and 2, as thats what most of the football is on as is the rugby, as described by Bilko. Cracking value, definitley one to be looked into.
