I have allways voted labour, but for those of you who voted for this present Con/dem goverment, would you vote them in again not forgetting unemployment figures have leaped, vat up in the new year and defences cut to an alarming level. Working class have now not having much chance of further education, retirement age increased, I am trying to think of some good news but it's difficult.

In a flash. This last 9 months has been basically a mopping up excercise following the that the slack jawed one eyed gobe made of the country.

What I will never understand (and I include my parents in this) is why someone ALWAYS votes a particular way irrespective of what they're offering, because either their family have always voted that way or they just do.

Have not voted since 1987 and see no reason to vote in the future, and please spare me the crap of " people died for you, so that you could vote".

when I see 1 party, whether its Labour, Tories or Longford Left Footed Lesbians, that will, get Britain out of the EEC, bring back the death penalty and reintroduce public flogging, will be the time that I go back to the ballot box.

Anybody who believes that using the ballot box will change the country for the better, needs to be sectioned and put in a straight jacket.

People should realise, that it is big business that runs countries, and not policies.

quite frankly, politicians and councillors should all be put against a wall and a026.gif

Don't care what you say the tories will allways look after the well off and yes I allways voted Labour with good reason, the mess were in now was started initially by the Thatcher goverment, crush the unions, sell everything that was ours anyway and it's happening all over again only last night on the news Gloucester council selling 1000 of acres farming land putting farmers out of business, why? spending cuts then sell everything, get rich quick. The tories have never understood long term investment.

Why do people get all shirty about politians doing u-turns ?

Is that not politians actually doing what they are paid to do and representing/listening to the electorate ?

Granted sometimes they see a bigger picture and stand by their convictions but sometimes they think 'hey you know what the public are right on this lets change our minds'.

Again something else that is getting on my nerves

The 2010 election 29,653,638 voted which is 65.1% of those eligable to vote
The Lib dems secured 6,827,938 votes, 23 % of those eligable to vote
The population of the UK is around 60 million so roughly 10% of the UK wanted to be governed by the Lib Dems.
Of all those that voted, how many of them saw the student fees as a core policy and the main reason they wanted the Lib Dems to win ?
Lets make a fair guess and say 50%, so 3 million people out of 60 million.
So 5% of the population think they can tear up London, and the papers think they can rip Clegg to shreads based on (loosely) 5% of the population. What about the other 95% ?

I was torn on who to vote all the way up to polling day, i didn't vote for Labour even though most of my family did, as they have always done even though my step dad was blasting how bad the government were ?
That made no sense to me what so ever, he hates the government yet votes for the very same party ?

Of the big three if i voted tomorrow, i'd vote Cons, i think it's too soon to actually judge them in any real serious way as they are trying to restore the mess the World banks and Labour have left us in.

I think what a lot of people don't realise (not necessarily directed at you btw) is that when you look throughout Europe + the US, the UK is nowhere near as bad as some countries, we haven't been remotely close to being bailed out which a few already have and Spain isn't far off being the next.

Ireland is in meltdown at the minute because of the Euro, and the labour government refused to join and it has already paid dividends, IRE is already considering rejoining sterling next year.

The main thing with the new government that has really annoyed me, is not the student fees as I semi-agree with what they are doing (the principle but not the method) but it is the instant scrapping of the schools building scheme. I know of several schools that are desperately in need of revamping and completely new buildings, contracts had been agreed, and 1 in particular was 2 weeks away from the builders moving in after the entire school had been cleared out, just to have it scrapped. Ludicrous.

Are you suggesting that taxes, schooling, policing, transport, health provision, etc have no bearing on your or your family's life?

Clegg will never get an opportunity for people to vote for him again. He's sold the sole of the Libs Dems (Fees, Trident, Voting reform etc etc etc).
