Still scratching my head why tonights game isn't Leeds v Wire.

Wakefield v Bradford - WHY????

So, what do people think then, should Sky show the games that look like they might be the most entertaining on paper, or are being played between the 'bigger' sides (by that I mean those at the top of the table or Leeds) or should they try and give airtime pretty evenly across all the teams?

This is the last round of pre-selected games.

I don't know the ins and outs but I imagine they're contracted to show every team a certain number of times. That's why the odd game that may look big on paper such as ours tonight isn't on during the pre-selected period as the selectors had to make guesses at the start of the season and let's be honest, based on last season's form this game would be a walkover for Leeds.

Now that the pre-selected period is almost out the way and I assume the contractual obligations have been fulfilled then the "big" games will be shown more as they can be selected with the form of both clubs in mind (up to a few weeks before anyway).

Unfortunately for us I envisage this leading to more home games being moved for Sky at shortish notice a la Hull KR.

I think they have to show every team a minimum of so many times.

If I understand the rules correctly, Sky have to show two home games for each team in the initial (first half) of the season. After that they are on a selection basis but they will spread the games around so as not to alientate, say, Salford who nobody is interested in.

Contractual obligations or not, I still think they could have shown our encounters against Leeds and Saints with a bit more forward planning.

I don't think I've seen more than about 3 games on TV all year, mostly due to doing other things on Fri / Sat nights, but also because of Sky's uninspiring choice of matches.

Ahem...........
