| I personally like the Salford ground, its the location that its in thats the problem. I like Castlefords as well, always a welcoming place to go.

I'm a big fan of the old style grounds as well Geordie, the two you've named and even Knowsley Road despite the bad memories it holds.
You can feel and almost smell the history and tradition on walking into those stadia, which will soon be obsolete as soulless, identikit flatpack arenas become the norm. All in the name of progress I suppose.

Manchester.
Could be the best ground in National Leagues come 2012.

Can't help but feel the same. I remember seeing an article in the MEN from 1998 that talked about the Peel Holdings stadium/super casino project. And from 2004 when they're apparently 'weeks away' from permission to begin building a £35m, 20,000 seater stadium with shopping complex.
Like Dave says, I hope they get off the ground this time, but I just can't see it myself.

| Good news for them if it goes ahead but i cant see the new ground bringing more fans like it did at other clubs... Hull FC, Wire and Wigan all seen an increse in support when moving homes, I just cant see this happaning with Salford as it's Football country.

Correct me if im wrong but aren't Hull and Wigan part of football country?
I dont think it matters, there is room for both sports in any area. How many warrington fans also attend Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Everton or Bolton games aswell as watching the wolves? Quite a few i'd imagine.

Your right but kind of missed my point.... Hull and Wigan was rugby country long before football came along and was very successful in the sport.
Manchester/Salford was very successful in football long before Rugby came along and there rugby team unlike the two mentioned above are'nt that great.... Yes lots of Liverpool, United, Everton fans watch Warrington but how many go to there games ?... not many, on the other hand the residents of Manchester/Salford will choose the football match over the rugby match every day of the week.

| Hull, Wire and Wigan all had a 3-4 year build up to their move, they all tried various means to build up the crowds prior to leaving their old grounds. Salford never seem to do anything to increase their crowds apart from unfounded rumours about Aussie signings that have never materialised. They may have secured the Planning Permission, but Peel Holdings haven't supplied the money yet, and I doubt they ever will. I still have grave doubts about Salford.
