Just wanted to note a big thank you to the club today for giving me & my son the opportunity to touch & examine the challenge cup. We're both made up and the photo team deserve a big wrap for the quality of the photo's they took. It was also fantastic to have the stadium open so we could go on the pitch and wander around - Something I have wanted to do since day one!!

No, they were letting people just take their own with phones etc

We rang the club this morning who'm which told us you were not aloud to take your own photo's, it had to offical so we didn't bother going down...

Am I right in thinking that the Cup that was there today is in fact a replica and the real one is stored at the RFL, due to its age and fragility?

The trophy currently presented to the winners after the final is not the original which had to be withdrawn due to its delicate condition. As well as the silver wearing thin, it had lost its fluted top and the players on each of the handles had been damaged. The original Fattorini trophy is now stored at the RFL's headquarters at Red Hall and only used for promotional appearances.

We got to touch the existing cup that Morley & Briers lifted at Wembley. Thats why it meant something to us.
