Another good win for the Academy again today. Score was 44 - 24 when I left.

Fell off the pace a bit in the 2nd half but the game was long dead as a contest by then. Considering the number of u16's and u17's that are in teh team something must be right with our junior recruitment despite what some may want people to believe.

Another great win for our youngsters. They will now remain second close behind Wakefield, keeping Castleford in third place. If you look at the table, we have the best defence in the league conceded the least amount of points out of all the teams competing.

3 games left to play an important game being the one against Wakefield I feel.

The boys played some great rugby today and defended well in the second half, when they had periods of little possession.

I don't know if Rah played or if there are any centres coming through as I didn't see the game i just heard the result as they ere warming down...

That's quite poor considering we released two of our Academy players to join National League Clubs...

they're not academy they are reserves (SIMPLES )

One is there halfback gareth moore..a good young scrum half..but thinks hes better than what he is..just like bridge used to be before smith had a word with him, bridge used to be a right cocky sod in reserves, trying to do things he couldnt then losing us the game by trying to do it all rather than doing the simple things like passing.

So would it be better for their development to be playing in the mighty reserve league, or playing proper rugby where the result matters?

It might be better for some of the reserve players to play first team rugby in a lower division. The dual registration they are bringing in next year means the RFL are already thinking along those lines. There will be an Under 20's comp and u18's next year. From what I have heard clubs will be allowed only 3 over age players in the Under 20's comp. So all clubs are going to have to consider thier options and perhaps release some reserve team players or dual register them. Big changes seem to be afoot. Hopefully to improve the talent in this country.
