| Drove the short distance from Ross-On-Wye to Bridgend for last nights game.
Having watched Wires for over 50 years, never thought Id see the day I would be going to South Wales to watch a RL league game.
Met for the first time two of Wires greatest ever forwards, Mike Nicolas and Bobby Wanbon, two real gentlemen.
Nicolas took-on and destroyed the great Aussie touring pack at Wilderspool single-handed after being battered in the first tackle of the game by the full Aussie pack. Fantastic.
Wanbon was probably one of the finest tacklers ever. He seemed to have an instinctive knack of getting the timing absolutely perfect so that almost every tackle became a big one. Players he hit stayed hit for a long time and all perfectly legal.
I like whats happening with Wires under TS but to be honest last nights game was easily forgettable. A lot of dropped ball and scrappy play.
Enjoyed the experience though. The Brewery field is a nice little ground with a lot of enthusiasm for RL. Their supporters are almost as desperate for some wins as we were pre TS.
What I don't understand is the why the backs are constantly being shuffled around in the 2nd half, in every game. Surely TS must know the best combination, why not just stick to it and let the players settle into a pattern of play. I know flexibilty is useful but so is consistency.

| What was the attendance? I'd say we outnumbered them by 3/4 - 1.
Good turnout by us lot, what a crap ground though

| Official attendance was 3200, probably 3100 of us.
The ground, whilst rustic had the bar at the back of the terrace. So for me pint in hand leaning on the bar, watching the game whilst eating my way through half a roast hog, made it the best venue I've been to in ages.
And a top night out afterwards. The bridgend folk were exceptionally welcoming. Great weekend.

I agree that having a bar at the back was great and the hog roast thing was nice and that's were it stops.
The view is probably the worst in the league, the toilets are a disgrace and the whole place just looks tired and dilapidated, Celtic getting a license based on that ground is a very poor show for the Super League.

| Yeah the bar across the back is a cracking idea. Toilets left a lot to be desired and no matter where you stood your view was restricted at times by the pillars. Dunno why we didn't go behind the sticks though

| Don't think we were outnumbered 4/1. 2/1 maybe. Probably seemed like it because the lads that used to stand on the terraces making all the noise cleared off to the far corner of the stand. Don't ask me why. To make more noise apparently. Well THAT failed! Almost all the noise on the terraces was by you lot.
We're struggling a bit for supporters right now but give us another year or two and I hope we can post better attendances than Quins and at least one other club.
To those that did, thanks for making the journey, especially the guy who was there with his wife that corrected me when I was insulting the "linesman" (should have been "touch judge" - bear with me I'm still learning)

About 65/70 miles. 125 from Ross return.
