Ronnie Duane was definitely involved. Wire still reigning champs AFAIK. 
Beat 'Rest of World' in final, and I'm fairly sure Allan Langer was playing for them. However, the whole thing appears to have been airbrushed from history as I can't find owt about it on the web... |

| cant find anything either, google just keeps saying "did you mean british coal mines" lol, any one got any pics or info on this remember us playing other teams to get to the final but cant remember who any help would be great and im sure the trophy was a mining lamp  |

It doesn't rank very highly on the "I Was There" charts but, nonetheless, I was actually there. If anyone's interested in forming a rival group to the Perpignan 52 then let me know.
Memories of the night include a Wigan steward letting us in for a couple of quid cheaper than the admission price by opening a gate for us and the very exotic Papua New Guinea fielding a team. Up to that night I'd never actually believed they played rugby there.
Oh yes, and we won it.
