| What do we make of his omission from the England squad, my thoughts are that he is a talent but like briers of old don't know if he has lived the correct lifestyle of the pitch. Something has put off McNamara from selecting
Unsure if he is stevos love child or he has had a tender on him win man of steel but he is so far up his its cring worthy!! Typical stevo IMO

| Brough is the best halfback in Super League by an enormous distance at the moment. If he's left out to accommodate Gareth Widdop that's one thing, but if he's left out for Kevin Sinfield, it's a bit silly.

| Isn't he not playing for England of his own volition? I know post game interviews should be taken with a pinch of salt, but his reaction to the England question seemed legit.

| Yes in a nutshell he's pee'd off with McNamara messing him about even though it's blatently obvious to everyone except McNamara that he should have been England's No.7 so he's give him two fingers and picked Scotland.

| Its a reflection on the lack of talent around these days that Danny Brough is such a talking point.
He is a good player but not a great player and when it comes to the World Cup and is well short of the calibre of player that could win international tournaments.

Thank God for that. I thought I was the only one who didn't really rate Brough that much. For the last 3-4 years he's always had periods in a season when he seems like an absolute world beater, but when the chips are really down he consistently fails to deliver. One could also question as to why he's had so many clubs in his career, and why the really big clubs have never gone for him.

| But who is the answer, Sinfield for all his positive attributes is not as good in the halves as Brough.
Chase is a Kiwi, a drum i'll bang until he goes back down under.
Widdop? getting panned by everyone at Melbourne (players/coaches)

I think our very own Richie Myler would have something to say about that.

| I may be biased (in fact I am!!) but why not go with Ratchford and Myler as that combination could be together for the next ten years; let's stop this short term fix all the time and plan ahead.
Sinfield as much as I admire him and believe he has been the most consistent player in the Super League era has NEVER really performed at International level and Chase is a Kiwi!!!!!!!

| Ratchford is much better at full back, Chase is the best half back in super league but he's not english.

We used to have a number 6 like that until TS arrived. Makes me wonder what he could do with Brough.

| Brough is like Ryan Sheridan some years ago. Looks a world-beater one game in ten, goes into a shell for the other nine, and doesn't have the nouse to step up to international level. I was eternally puzzled by Sheridan's many selections for GB and at least Brough has been rumbled as similarly out of his depth.

Thats a weird one, how many times did Sheridan play for GB/Eng?

| According to Wikipedia, he played for GB three times - twice in 99 (one of which was from the bench) and once in 2002. He played for Ireland in the 2000 World Cup - 4 matches.

See - in Sheridan's hands 120 minutes seemed like 1000!
