I quite like the idea of a 'stare'ing' competition though. Maybe we could get him to have a 'Stare-Off' with Tim Sheens ? Its probably the only competition we could ever win against the Aussies.

to be fair to macca hes got a team with only a few players you`d call quality and one of thems at home injured...whoever was coach we`d still have the same problem..

quite unfair on mcnamara , hasnt got same quality players available to choose from i dont feel like australia and the kiwis, weve got some young players up against tough experienced players, personally i think we will just beat PNG

Surely Jimmy Lowes would have been a better bet? He was assistant when GB beat New Zealand 3-0 in 2007. Why was he not considered for the main job? Lowes won everything as a player and there's not a lot about RL that he doesn't know.

I think we should give him a chance and not judge after his first game.

I was embarrased on Saturday being a Wire fan, Atkins defence was shocking- he seems to let the man run past him and then jump on him but whilst he can get away with it in SL at International level he is caught out. Westwood was also found out; giving 110% as Benny always does, at international level is a given the difference at International level is quality as well as 110% and unfortunatly Benny + quality dont go together.

In my opinion Crabtree and Carvell would have been a better option especially when the Kiwis were tiring, But that didnt happen so no point whingeing. Just looking forward to watching (and supporting) the wire lads and all the other players put in a good performance and see what happens.

I agree about Atkins he shouldnt be anywhere near an England jersey, Westwood on the other hand I thought went well and was one of out better performers and carried on his consistent high standard.
