Former Warrington player Barry Briggs passed away peacefully this morning.

Yeah very sad I have vague memories of him. My thoughts with his family.

RIP Barry. Played his best Rugby for us running off Kenny Parr's passes in a back row of Ken Parr, Barry Briggs, and Ray Clark.

I remember him well. R.I.P. Barry and condolences to his family.

Such sad news. I remember Barry as a real aggressive takling and running forward who played in the late 1960s alongside Brindle, Windslade et al. He then went out to Oz for a spell. When he came back much of that early fire had disappeared and he was probably seen as too light to fit into Murphy's pack. He subsequently moved onto Wigan.

R.I.P Barry. Fine player and a very nice guy. Used to mither him for his tie ups after games at Wilderspool.

He came to Wigan about the same time as Brian Gregory, who also passed away a few years ago.

I used to play football with his son. Never seen Barry play but my dad said he was a good un.

Rip Barry, I remember him well, both he and his brother wilf were great chaps. Barry's nephew tim hartley played for Leigh last night against barrow and I'm sure Barry would have been looking down enjoying the game.

I never got to see my dad play but heard all the stories both good and bad! The thing that stood out about my dad for me is that he wasn't just a dad, he was also my best friend. Gone but forever in my thoughts. Goodnight, godbless. x

Very nice words them Carl . Your dad was a great man mate always good for a laugh I was lucky to have known him both as a boss in my younger days and a friend socially. He will be greatly missed by a lot of people! My heart felt wishes go to you , your mum and sister and the rest of your family. God bless you Basher R.I.P.
