| Purely in the spirit of making our game more politically correct, shouldn't we introduce lineswomen to the sport ?
I was reading the current Guardian 'on line' article about Wire in Oz, and somehow got distracted from the staggering headline "Matty Russel : it's going to be helpful", to the bottom of the page where I found a news snippet entitled ' you may also like', which leads to; Aleksandra Milojevic. If you type her name into a google search you will find a clip of her officiating at a Serbian football match. Puts most of our weather girls to shame, and the camera man was clearly not that bothered about the football match.
Obviously we would only be able to employ really fit girls.

| What a pointless idea it would be. Just as pointless as linesmen.

| I think some of the shouted remarks from the south stand would be even more embarrassing than than they are already.

| I think it's a great idea. I can think of numerous reasons why it should be tried, although admittedly none of them have anything to do with Rugby League.

There was a young lady refereeing in Championship 1 a couple of years ago, however she packed in after her father sadly died. She is now trying to work her way up with the ambition of making SL I do believe.

I always find it a bit cringeworthy when middle aged men that watch male sports, turn in to slavering creeps at the involvement of any female at all.
You get it at the cricket when they have those npower girls, they are just like the girls you would meet on any university campus, and guys in their 30s, 40s and 50s go hanging round them wanting their photos taken with them and saying creepy innuendos. As for motor racing or car shows its even worse because the women are actual models and the audience is even more on the geeky side, the guys become jibbering nervous wrecks.
On internet forums if there's ever any picture of a reasonably attractive young woman taken in the stands, or involved in the media or backroom staff that finds its way on to the internet look at the comments and it is just embarassing, adult men saying hubba hubba and various innuendos. Look at that other thread where they are all going on about weather girls.
I don't even think its sexist, I just think its total cringe for the guys involved. Fair enough if its teenage lads saying it, we were all randy at that age, but when its adult men that have wives and kids of their own it is just embarrassing.

Well we already have an Ashes winning women's cricket team together with football and rugby teams, so I imagine it will only be a matter of time before we see lineswomen. I suppose to keep some of the more conservative sections of society happy we could always ask them to cover up. A lineswoman wearing a full burkha at the HJ would certainly be an exotic sight, with her robes billowing out behind her, in full flight down the touchline. It would bring a 'Pakistan tribal regions' feel to the stadium.

Perhaps one possible benefit for our home games would be the chance to hear a different tune from the South Stand whistling idiot, what a card he is?

Whilst I accept that there are limits to common decency that unfortunately sometimes get exceeded, you seem to know a lot about the subject (as always). These creepy innuendos that those poor npower girls endure from their day off studying classics at univeristy have you had experience, are you an npower girl?
Go ahead and feel a bit cringeworthy for the rest of us it is a free country after all, may be not so much in Cinnamon high Brow?
As someone well past his teenage prime, I'm hoping for many more hubba bubba years whatever they are? My sensibilities will hopefdully stop me from becoming that nervous wreck if I'm ever in the presence of a Formula 1 girl, that would just be the pits wouldn't it? Mind you they are actual models, so should expect a bit of attention shouldn't they unlike those lovely univeristy students masquerading as npower girls to make an honest bob.
As for the weather girls tut tut yes it's a disgrace, let's get Ian McCaskill and Michael Fish back or better still Jack Scott in black and white that'll learn the slavering creeps.

| I agree that leering, lewd, unpleasant, sexist or aggressive language aimed at ANY gender is not to be tolerated or condoned, but the language certain "ladies" use in the South Stand would make a Glaswegian hod carrier blush.
Anyway it was a joke. So get a life, not to mention a sense of humour. You'll be asking them to put bromide in the South Stand Carlsberg next.

| I don't see how it would be an issue having a female touch judge. Surely if one comes through the ranks, they can't be as bad as the current crop of male touch judges in Super League. Plus they can multi-task, so would be able to see everything.
Sian Massey is arguably the best assistant referee in the Premier League at the moment, she seems to be getting a lot of PL matches, and all of her decisions are spot on.
Plus she got Richard Keys and Andy Gray sacked, and Andy Burton in a lot of bother so she is alright with me!!
