Everybody plays everybody else three times (27 games)
5 team playoffs on the system we had from 1998-2001, ie
Week 1 - 1 gets bye, 2 v 3, 4 v 5. Whoever loses out of 4 v 5 eliminated
Week 2 - 1 plays whoever won from 2 v 3 for a place in Grand Final, whilst whoever lost from 2 v 3 plays whoever won from 4 v 5 and the winner of this game eliminated
Week 3 - the loser of the Grand Final qualifier plays the winner of last week's elimination match, for the remaining Grand Final place
Week 4 - Grand Final

Happy with that now we are unlikely to end up 10th again.

Top eight play-off remains

Two teams automatically relegated each year. Championship grand final runner-up is given right to a one-leg playoff for promotion against 3rd-bottom in SL, similar to the way that the Belgian football league works. This match is played as a curtain-raiser to the SL Grand Final.

A Magic Weekend with derbies, alternating between Cardiff, Newcastle, and Villa Park.

I prefer a top 6 play off though as a top 8 rewards mediocrity.

Call me old-fashioned

Current SL teams minus Salford and Wakey, play each other twice and magic weekend in Cardiff (derbies) at start of year (23 rounds). Play offs top 6 like few years ago. Promotion/Relegation, bottom down, champ gf winner up. More internationals mid year or state of origin style games back. Reduce amount of overseas players allowed.

Hopefully should increase quality of English born players and competition to avoid relegation as well as rewarding the champions of the championship!
