| The fact that he hasn’t already been announced makes me a bit suspicious. He’ll be wanting more than the 200k GBP he’s already on, and maybe he’s holding out to see if he can get a better deal than what we think he’s worth, with another club. The last thing we want to do is make another mistake of over paying a NRL ‘star’ who turns out to be dud.

His earning potential is limited by the fact no NRL club is interested, so there is no extra over financial enticement needed to bring him across, if he wants to continue a professional RL career it has to be in Super League, that puts him in a SL wage bracket. We've brought Sandow, Roberts, Austin, Widdop & Williams over on marquee salaries, all of them were regular NRL starters so with a realistic opportunity to remain in the NRL (might be pushing it with Roberts). Dufty is completely different in terms of where he is in his career, so his salary will be reflective of that. I'm not saying he will be playing for peanuts, but it wont be on a similar level to the above players and I doubt £200k plus.

He's signed. Will join up with his team mates next week and be registered for this season having already signed a 2 year deal.

| Does anybody else just have a massively bad feeling about this signing.
It's got red flags all over it.

I think it could be a mistake bringing him over now to be honest. This season is done for Warrington realistically and bringing him in when the team is such a mess with all the comings and goings could turn out to be a mistake.
The talent is definitely there with Dufty. He's more talented than Field for example, he'll score some sensational tries if he gets his confidence up and he'll be as much of an individual threat as you've ever had in Super League. But he's also suffered from a lack of confidence in the NRL and is prone to errors, which seem to compound themselves and leave him not wanting the ball. That's why I'd have brought him in for next season, when he'll be playing off the back of the biggest forward pack UK rugby league has ever seen.
If I were a Warrington fan I'd be very optimistic about this signing. You can't knock the board and Powell, they haven't half gone for it. They have gone from a completely powerpuff pack in the Cooper/Hill/Philbin days that was simply never good enough to win a SL, to an enormous pack that will win games on it's own. You've also got arguably the fastest set of backs in SL history as well with Dufty, Wrench, Ashton and if you sign Wardle. It might not work, it might fall apart spectacularly, but you can't question the ambition, they've put everything including the kitchen sink and next doors driveway and their Nan into winning SL next season.

| I'm not concerned one bit about this signing. He's openly said he doesn't want to leave the nrl and thinks he's good enough to play there. At the moment, nobody is willing to offer him a decent contract over there. He'll only be 28/29 after his 2 years with us. The way to get an nrl contract would be to rip it up in SL the way field and French have done.

| If he is any good let's get him in now. But our defence is the biggest worry for me and this is a whole team problem.

Yes!
This could be the worst signing ever with his comments about SL, the reasons why he was got rid of from St George and the Bulldogs. He's a player with defence, poor attitude and thinks hes bigger than SL. When two of the wooden spooners dont want you then its a red flag for me.
