He will deserve it if he contributes to a winning performance.
Clearly he has never done this in the past and thus has never deserved to be in a final, i suspect that the same scenario will occur tomorrow.:30555.jpg |

| What an absolute waste. He had SL at his feet and could of been one of the best for years to come!

| No I don't feel sorry for him either Karetaker. In fact after him waltzing out on us I actually get a perverse smug feeling about it.
To me its the perfect example of not getting out what you put in.
Sandow had more natural ability than cooper cronk. But Cronk works hard lives and breathes the game studies set plays. Doesn't deviate from structured game plans and is in it for the team not himself.
However that said, Sandow is exactly what the game should be about. ..excitement, flair, skill, flashes of briliance. ... cronk doesn't have that, he puts the same crossfield kick in on the button time after time....or that little inside pass off Smith to Slater. ...like the commentators always say you know what's coming but you can't stop it.
You never got that with Sandow or Phil Blake or Jiffy ....even Langer to a certain extent and that's why the games not what it was.
It's a shame Sandow won't be playing top level rugby. And I'm sure as he looks out of his two bed bungalow in the Bush and sees cooper cronk in his million pound Sydney palace he won't care. And that's why he's where he is.

I agree with what you say, just I couldn’t be bothered as he doesn’t deserve the mention for me,blown a god given talent so I refer to my earlier response.

| All that came to my mind was the song Working in the coal mine.
Well if he's happy with throwing his career away.

| Someone like that just has to find their thing in life. Maybe he just likes playing rugby league with his mates and doesn't want to have an environment where he has to live his life by the rules of a professional set up.
Coal mining is not going to be an easy life and if he's not turning up to shifts there he will soon get kicked out but maybe it's more his thing so he'll stick with it.
I'm glad we had him for the time we did as he was a superb player to watch and brought excitement to the P&B but we can't really have complaints about how it turned out as we knew his history. It's like when people say we should sign Hock, you know these players bring issues and the real top teams don't tend to sign players like this, they tend to get rid of them.
I reckon a good rule of thumb with players with a past is no more than second chances. If a player makes a mistake at a club when young he might get his head together when someone else gives him a go, but if a player is available who has had issues at two clubs it's likely to be a pattern that will just repeat through his career and just disrupt dressing rooms.

| There is probably more security than a few years playing rugby. The miners in Oz are on mega bucks & their mining techniques are more up to date & worker friendly than the NCB used to offer.

| Widge.
You reap what you sew. If the fella wants to work in a coalmine, so be it.
I can't be d clicking on the link, so I've no idea if it's a cry for help/attention. He's made his bed, let him lay in it. I give less than one love. I wonder if his friends from Warrington's hostelrys miss him?
From the way Smith "resurrected" Briers' career, with his off the field activities, I'm sure Smith was aware of Sandow's foibles. Seems some people don't want to take advice.

I believe Briers resurrected his own career...
He was in his way to Barrow. Contracts drawn up...then LB weeped to TS he didn't want to leave...TS told him what had to go for him to stay...LB did the rest.
