| Hearing lots of noise about wire announcing the signing of westerman next week.
Thought a prop and a centre would of been a priority but doesn't look that way, I think benny Westwood would do a great job off the bench at prop, as well as dodds and Ben Harrison, if it's true I'd line up as follows next year,
Russell
Penny
Ratch ford
Atkins
Lineham
Gidley
Sandow
Hill
Clarke
Simms
Hughes
Currie
Westerman
Dwyer
Dodds
Westwood
Harrison
G king
T king
R Evans
B Evans
Laithwaite
Philbin
Wilde
Patton
Wheeler
Ormsby
Livett
Julien

| I have read on another forum that there are supposed to be another two signings in the pipeline.
Maybe we have to wait till after the rugby union finishes before we can announce Sam Burgess & Sonny Bill Williams.

| On his day Westerman is a top class player and definitely improves on what we have. Good signing for me.

Perhaps that's the reason Smith has planned for a earlier than usual start to training, if Westerman has signed he has a good skill set so there will be lots of settling in and game plans to work through, hopefully with a new prop.

| If we have signed Westerman, I can't see us signing another prop. It frees up Harrison from the 13 role which in effect gives us the extra prop.

| More fool Warrington, not nececerraly for signing him but for paying a 6 figure transfer fee and 6 figure salary, for a player who as failed to live up to the hype and potential at two clubs, one of which paid a huge transfer fee for him. Good bit of business for hull, get a much more reliable solid player in washbrook in return.

Can see Russell on the wing next year where he prefers to play and still do the one good thing he can do from Fullback and that's return the ball strongly/aggressively,Johnson or Gidley at Fullback all day long, both class acts and can vary the plays
Looks like we are finally getting the right mix with surely one or two still to arrive

You may be right as it stands Harrison and Westwood are the only two candidates, Dodds has been used from the bench so he may well step up and start with Hill, it would be when one or both come off that I would like us to have another out and out prop giving the pack more stability with rotations, another prop would help the bench no end.

If we have space for one more, I think centre is now more important, if we have signed Westerman.

Dodds
Currie
Hughes
Westerman

Westwood

| Serious question.
How do Warrington fans rate their recruitment so far?
Dodds is a gamble obviously but Warrington have gambled on Aussies making an impression for years. Westerman could well improve but is Warrington's pack any better than Hull's?
I am not trying to be funny or owt like that. I just think you have accepted that you won't be challenging for titles any more.

| The more I look at the combination of size, strength and pace in the top back lines the more I'm favouring a line up of Lineham & Atkins on the wings with Ratchford and Currie at centre. That would give us probably one of the biggest wing partnerships in SL. Let's face it, Atkins will never be a top centre and probably isn't best suited to second row either. Currie has such great handling skills he is probably wasted in the second row and has pace to burn. Ratchford is elusive and quick too.
If we have signed Westerman he would fill the 13 role with Hughes and Westwood in the back row. As someone else has said, that frees up Harrison to take up an additional prop role. I'd be happy with that. Russell would start at FB for me with pressure from Johnson, if only because he has such a great kick return. Having a ball playing 13 reduces the need for an extra pivot at fullback.
