I was going to post this on Thursday and I believe that wane is clearly looking for a play off crack at the giants in their 1st playoff game
He fielded a SL sub stranded team on Friday clearly showing his cards and you can bet your bottom dollar the same will happen against Leeds
He doesn't want to play us away and is cowardly opting to beat Huddersfield over the hills
Clever or coward I just hope that the giants smash them to bits .

A substandard team that was leading with a few minutes to go? and would have got at least a draw only for inept time keeping/referee.
Those kids were superb on Friday, it was one of the most enjoyable games of the season.

You do realise that time keeping is undertaken by representatives of both clubs?

Presumably the Wigan fans got a discount on the admission price on Friday...If you're going to watch an under19's team surely you'd demand an U19's admission charge.

so what if wigan go to hudds and we entertain leeds.whoever loses gets to have another go the week after and more than likely win playing the same teams that beat you in the semis...great idea

You obviously don't realise that you are wrong.

That was how it used to be.

There is now an official RFL appointed timekeeper. On Friday I believe it was Gerry Kershaw. The salient point is that the clock was stopped with 5:03 remaining and not restarted for a complete set of six. What is unsure is whose fault it was?
Did the referee wave time back on or did the timekeeper forget to restart it?

Perhaps Mr Wane knew that he had only got to beat Leeds on Thursday & he is guaranteed 3rd. So Wigan put a full team out against Leeds, win and get 3rd.

I really don't buy into this Wigan or Leeds want to finish 4th so they play Huddersfield.

The Giants have beaten every single team in SL this year (apart from us). In fact the Giants have beaten Leeds 3 times, whereas Leeds have beaten us once & only lost the other time by one point. There is an argument that if Sinfield would have been playing that night then his kicking would have won them the game.

Wane has mentioned that there was a two minute time difference between Wigan's timekeeping and the official time. If it was one set of six then Wigan must have taken the slowing down of the play-the-ball to levels never ever achieved previously.

As for team selection I'm surprised that this team didn't play the week before Wembley, either way Wigan were bound to play a weakened team either side of Wembley. As you said a very respectful score-line for the Wigan club although I'm not sure what Hull's performance was like.

Wasn't there a thread on here a couple of weeks ago talking about young lads in our Academy pushing for first team spots and someone said you can bet if they were at Wigan or Leeds they would have had their chance by now.

At least Wane gives young players a chance he doesn't operate a rule that you have to be aged 30 or over to get in the first team.

Wigan have been nursing key players through injury for a few weeks now, some of whom were patently unfit in the cup and are still doubtful to be anything like for the play-offs, I think that's the main reason for the team selection.

If he fancies a crack at Huddersfield, fine go for it. Form over the course of the season seems to count for little in the play-offs it's just a case of getting weary bodies patched-up and clicking at the right team, as we all know. I still think Huddersfield will bottle it, because they tend to, but if it comes back and bites Wigan on the ar*e then all the better.

For me, I just want to see Wires play to their potential, and for the refereeing for ALL teams to be consistent, fair and conducive to free-flowing rugby. Let the rest worry about themselves, even Saints admitted we are the best team in the comp so let's show them all why.

I will drink to that. Lets leave all the debate about the league structure for the off season and just enjoy our last few weeks of domestic footy!

People are deluded if they think Wane and the Wigan club would genuinely want to lose any games.
