Wow. Fcking ROBBED. Doesn't matter if its accidental, he impedes the player trying to actually catch the P£SSING BALL
If the roles were reversed we would be screaming for a try. Thewlis made a meal of it. A trip is a trip. Stop making excuses. He gets in the way and doesn't get out of the way fast enough. How can Thewlis make a meal out of it? His eyes are on the sky. There were two angles that showed he got kicked in the ankle; no way you could maintain balance in that situation. Mental decision. So are you thinking conspiracy or inept video ref. Which is it?

The Thewlis brothers, Ashton, Wrench, Gardner, Lindop and Taylor-Wray I’d say we look promising in the backs. More focus on the pack needed starting with retaining Vaughan. We can not afford to let him go to York.

| For me the Makinson trip was a stone wall penalty. The line he ran was a deliberate play to distract Thewlis and not an attempt for the ball - which is fine of course - but the minute he makes contact like that, he should be penalised.
Balances it up for the try they should have had early on ( though I thought we were unfortunate not to get a penalty for a high shot in Vaughan.)
Williams was great, especially defensively against Pangai Jnr. Echo the thoughts on the back line, good to have a DoR who prioritises this.

I wouldn't lose any sleep if another club signed Harrison By the way, Gardner was the best player on that pitch tonight. King and tai better ring their agents.

| A positive is 14 of our points scored by players coming through Academy, and 8 of Catalans points.
Definitely need to trust youth development more.

| I'd agree that the emergence of Wrench and possibly Gardner are reasons for optimism, and probably mean we can spend money better elsewhere than retaining Tai. I'd keep King though on reduced terms: I think he is a better second rower than Fitzgibbon (post-injuries) or Crowther.
I remember in the 90s and 00s how, if we were bringing in a young lad from the academy, they'd usually be about 11 stone and get ragged about. Gardner last night, following on from Lindop and CTW before him, already looks a big strong lad and it was really exciting how he just ripped in and looked to make a mark in the game - with and without the ball. I just wish we could bring through some forwards too.
