| Shame it will make no odds to us getting into the play-offs….even if sign all the Kangaroos. Also regarding Charnley - Abe said there was no truth in us even attempting to sign him so not sure that the KFP pursuit of him is true.

There is probably more truth in what Abe said, the person who told me also said that King was out for the CC final haha. But in the past he's told me a lot of things that were right so i thought it was worth a little post to see if anyone had heard anymore.

For accuracy, there was a call between Warrington & Leigh about the availability of any outside backs for loan signings following on from Lindops injury. The same as with a few other clubs. Charnley was mentioned, as were other players. Nothing came of it. One of the rugby league websites then reported that a SL club had made an attempt to sign Charnley on loan which they suggested was Warrington. It was Salford. Interesting times now the quota has been increased to 10 players, although I'm not sure what the quality of players being signed will be like with no increase to the salary cap.

Whilst I agree that Salary Cap, particularly at the current level is "holding the game back", my biggest concerns are the sport's financial model (TV and sponsorship) based on managed poor visibility and the self interest of our main broadcaster and the lack of talent in the game. If the 12 or 14 clubs had the money where/how would they spend it?

To be honest the extra quota spots proberbly won't help us, as we can't seen to sign anyone.

| The salary cap has not achieved the levelling up that it was aimed at achieving. It has only stopped clubs from going out of business; maybe that's a good thing, or maybe it has held others back.

| It’s a bit annoying that we can’t pick up those that we are interested in, but it is actually a refreshing change that we don’t just out bid and pay over the odds. We’ve done that before and now have that reputation that agents use to their advantage and play clubs off against us.
I would have been really disappointed to have “won” an over priced bidding war for Liam Knight or Matty Lees.

It's a sad indictment but it hasn't stopped Salford and Bradford before them struggling financially
