Two things that haven't been mentioned last night that I feel are important:
1) Letting Clark go and putting faith in Walker has turned out to be massive. For the minutes Walker was on, he made Clark look ordinary. I still can't believe Clark got the nod for the internationals last year from Wane.
2) It may have slipped under the radar, but our academy hammered Saints away by 40 points. Not mentioned by Sky in the build-up.
The only things mentioned by Sky in the build-up were how soft and gutless Warrington are. Then Carney introduced the game as "one of Super League's most iconic clubs against the Warrington Wolves." If they had that on the changing rooms, combined with the hilarious trophy parade, it's no surprise our forwards were up for it. The coverage was shockingly biased. Even 2 ex Saints players as the colour commentators. Lauding everything Saints did. Made the win all that more satisfying.

The Academy win was the highlight of the night for me. We are building steadily with our youth policy, which we should have pursued years ago and the score was a fair reflection of the game. The stand-out player for Wire was a 1st year kid named Ewan Irwin. Bookmark that name he has it all, a specialist organising halfback with a great kicking game and an accomplished goal kicker

On this matter I am pretty fed up of seeing pundits covering the game when the team they played for are on. I was really expecting to see Jodie Cunningham on last night and she is so biased it’s unbelievable. I would have changed channel till the game kicked off had she been there. There are enough ex-players about these days that they could use neutrals.

| From what I remember he said both clubs are iconic. He never said an iconic club versus Warrington at all. Also, it should really be brought to attention that a knock-on was COMPLETELY missed when Saints won their Captain's Challenge. Either they're bent or incompetent. I wouldn't wager one way or the other...

| This below from the WG match feed last night. Hope it’s mainly precautionary given his difficult recovery
“Just spotted Leon Hayes watching the academy match - he's on crutches and wearing a protective boot on the ankle he broke last year.”

I couldn’t believe Thaler’s VR interpretation of that knock-on. The ball may have been behind the player, but the ball went forward just like the player did. It’s rare that the VR overrules the referee without firm visible proof.

There are enough ex-players about these days that they could use neutrals. At a push, Sky would probably argue that Sculthorpe played for both teams, but he was with us for only a year or so before binning us off for a successful career at Saints, nobody really associates him with us.

It’s rare that the VR overrules the referee without firm visible proof. The answer is in your first sentence. Thaler loves to be centre of attention a lot. I said at the time the players forward momentum in jumping for the ball should not count, how Thaler could say that ball went backwards was laughable.

| Very disappointed with Jodie Cunningham's punditry, she could at least acknowledge her roots and give us a bit of credit sometimes.

| Jack Welsby, surely gets a try assist for Ashton's touchdown.
