The players are so temperamental and fragile. Something has clearly miffed them and they have switched off. 

With Wire, usually when it gets like this it spirals downwards into a slump and a sacking of the coach, then the players start to improve (for a bit). Something in our culture or setup that spans coaches. Maybe look at those players and staff who have been here the longest.



This isn't a blip. It isn't even poor form. It's something else. We looked like we haven't played together. 


I hope Burgess can turn it around. 

Wire and Wigan have underestimated how much Las Vegas took out of them. 

Shocking decisions by the ref and liners today totally baffled, as for Widnes they got beat by Batley last week and this was their cup final and stepped up, they played well but were beaten by an under par Warrington, in the hat for the next round is all that matters 

Plus maybe a bit of perspective is needed, we were missing at least 5/6 of our first team today, Dufty, Ashton, King, Wrench, Lindop, Fitzgibbon, Hayes, Yates...

Perspective?? It's a terrible Widnes side, but like a few have said we're in the hat for the next round, only to get absolutely battered if this carries on. I'm more disgusted with these performances than anything under Powell.

And the excuse for the last 6 matches? Different squad but same attitude so the injuries matter not.

Not sure Burgess can, think he might be the bloody problem. I think his reputation and aura carried his first season and if that gets lost (rumour says it has) then you’re just left with an inexperienced coach with no sway and a seemingly poor choice in player. 

Lot riding on this for Sam and his NRL coaching ambitions, and us. 

No idea what Burgess said and I'm not doubting your quotation but one thing that he got right was that credit was due to Widnes, they played really well aided and abetted by some strange refereeing calls and our own stupidity particularly at the start of both halves.

The team selected should have been good enough to put Widnes to bed. However it was always a potential banana skin, Patton ran the show they spread the ball well and targeted our left hand side constantly.

I'm not singling out any players there were some very obvious errors but the team does seem lacking that cohesion and spark so it's up to the whole group to get that mojo back and quickly.

I agree Widnes played some nice rugby at times and moved the ball well but I would not describe them as a "great" team though. 


I think a more accurate description would be a well under par performance from a Superleage side against a championship side that were well organised, motivated and good with the ball. 


In my view we are unrecognisable from last season.
