Saturday night probably tops it on drama, but as an actual spectacle the rugby on show wasn't very special. In fact, the amount of holding down that Moore allowed just made it a close grind. I hope the grand final isn't reffed like that, but I suspect it will be, and we'll have to be prepared for it. Bizarre that he didn't penalise anyone for holding on, but then penalised Bateman for a perfectly legitimate play-the-ball...

The match against the Smellies, our true Derby, where Joel Monaghan went in at the corner to win in the last few seconds takes some beating. Agree though that last Saturday was special.

That Bateman penalty was absolute rubbish. He put the ball down cleanly and played it cleanly. Moore even waited about three seconds to blow his whistle. Far too many unmerited penalties like that have been given at play-the-balls this season.

Leeds game when Andrew Johns played for me. There's never been a better atmosphere at the HJ than that night.

Johns was shaking so much at the beginning, he couldn't put the ball on the Tee to kick off. When he got the 2 pointer from the touchline after the first try, you just knew it was going to be a good day
