| Quote: Winslade's Offload "I think these ratings are a bit over the top. It was certainly a very good performance, but Hudds. were poor on the day. Thewlis, much as I love him, made a couple of bad errors. You can't afford to kick the ball dead, particularly in a final against Wigan. He worked really hard, but Ashton was by far the biggest threat of our two wingers. Although credit goes to Thewlis for breaking a pad of beetroot juice on his head to try and get a penalty for us (LOL)).
Drinkwater's kicking was just ok, but his defence is a concern for me. I wanted him gone in the early season but I would have to admit that he seems to have upped his game considerably since then.
I would really like to have Wrench in the centre spot but Tai's defence and ability to take the ball up, considerably out weigh the elusiveness of Wrench in attack. King in the other centre is a shoe in simply because of defence, ability to take the ball upfield and his astute reading of the game when a break is on. Agreed he doesn't make many breaks but he has developed into a really clever player.
Top marks to Williams and Duffy. They can expect to get targeted by Wigan in the final though.'"
Not taking anything away from an excellent performance but it will need to be at another level against Wigan and Drinkwater's positional kicking will have to improve.
Tai plays for me. It is for Wrench to try and get the shirt back now as he is much sounder defensively and hits hard. Took his try well.

He seems to have turned his life around since those days.'"
Agreed - from what I remember TS was right to get rid of him at the time, but it shows that if you do give people a 2nd chance they can redeem themselves.
It was the same with Lee Briers - and after listening to a podcast he did some time ago I can fully understand and appreicate how and why things got out of hand, and have massive respect for him turning things around.
Going back to Gleese, I am really suprised how well he has developed as an attack coach in a relatively short space of time (including his previous stints in RU). It makes me wonder what our previous attack coaches were doing.....

By virtue of them holding their width, there are bigger gaps in the middle of the park for Dufty and Williams to exploit. It's really simple but leads to very attractive rugby. They are also weapons that, sadly, Wigan have too. Tactics for the final will be fascinating.'"
Watching Wigan vs Hull KR, they don't half compress their defence, especially in the opponents half. I think they will be vulnerable if we can shift it wide at pace like we did against Saints and Huddersfield.
I also like the idea of high kicks to Field.
Going to be interesting to see how it pans out. We are rightly underdogs - just as we like it.

Shifting it wide has worked against everyone so far, even catalans big pack.
We're gonna have to work hard to contain nsemba, though you can see fitz and dufty giving him some work in defence.
Tai in defence could be a worry,

I said this to my dad the other week, King is a different player now evidently cus we never kick to him anymore. But now that even the BBC's dream team on Sunday has noticed our latest 4th-tackle "give it to Dufty" ploy, maybe you're right we bring back the kick to King option!

I like Nsemba he’s big unit, good hard runner on the edges, his defence at times looks iffy. Has the odd penalty in him as well.. Wigan have got two very good seconds in Walter’s and Nsemba
