| I'm happy to see how this plays out... Question now is whether there's another centre incoming or whether it's King being given a chance again

| The Queensland cup is probably still a higher intensity than the current Super League. While we can't be certain that Tai will be a success, my betting is that he'll give a good return for his much smaller salary than most of our recent centres. Who was the last centre we were happy with (apart from Wrench's occasional appearances)? Goodwin?

| Well lets be positive, Tai is heaps better than Mata'utia as far as names go !
He looks very unstructured in his clips so I guess the coaching team will be spending oodles of time working him into pre-planned moves. But as a SS Islander he looks typically very strong, fast and aggressive. Its a tick from me, much rather take a punt than bring in a 32 year old 'name' looking to pad out the Autumn of his career at our expense.

Goodwin was worth his money just for that try saving tackle on Makinson in the CC Final

If nothing else, Rodrick will significantly raise the team's intelligence levels, given that he has got a bachelor's degree in applied physics with electronics and instrumentation, and is apparently working on a prototype of a dual axis solar tracking system that will follow the trajectory of the sun throughout a day, enabling solar panel efficiency to be increased by up to 40%. His LinkedIn profile lists one of his skills as 'root cause problem solving', so he may be just the man we need at Wire!

Excellent research. The more we know about our players the better. Perhaps someone can make up a song linked to Applied Physics & Electronics?

I have virtually the same degree (I don't have the word 'applied' in mine), unfortunately it didn't make me a good rugby player. The last game that I played (15 a-side code) was for the Leeds University Physics Society - Undergraduates vs. Staff. Not necessarily the highest calibre game, but at least we did understand the 'momentum' rule (and it's got b*gger all to do with momentum since the player's mass doesn't enter into the equation).
Didn't Mark Hilton take a First in Mathematics from the OU? Still tried, and more often than not failed, to run through brick walls rather than going around them.

| So have we signed Roderick Tai as a centre or a new CEO? Or maybe a player/CEO?
