It makes sense to use Toby king as our marquee player as only 50k of his wage will count on the cap. It would be stupid if he wasn't.

It would unless Burgess is trying to bring some big names over with him.

Only him and Williams so leaves 1 marquee spot. I agree i wouldn't use it on King, but with a lack of centres about i understand the decision to bring him back. And the 50k on the cap saves us about 100k (guestimate) so it's not bad really

A big consideration with Toby King should be "does he want to play for Warrington? ". Was his problem with the previous coach &/or certain players & will he be more settled & flourish under Burgess ?
Unless he actually wants to play for the Wire there is no point in fetching him back.

Toby King was on fire ... prior to us tying up his contract. He has kept his place in Wigan's team & after a shaky start has had some decent games (from what I have seen). It looks like he fell out with Powell but new broom now. Think positive for me.

His problem was being unable to remember his passport ahead of travel to Catalans and wanting to bring his pooch to training. Our problem is that he is on a rediculous high paid and long contract.

What I don't get with all this Toby King talk is that people on here always say we should invest more in our Academy because its cheaper to bring through home grown talent than buy in from outside and because they have more pride in the shirt when they have come through the Academy.

So Toby King should be a no brainer for us because he will be cheap and committed.
