Yes, it's only 1, maybe 2 hours in flight time. But to be safe. Would it not have been easier to spend the extra for a hotel. Rest easy in the hotel and get there fresh as opposed to possible flapping around and delays in getting there to prepare on the day. Plus airport times on the day. Yes it would be chartered. But faffing around at 8 or 9am in the airport. So possibly waking up at 5 or 6am to get ready to travel to what I presume was Manchester Airport. I'd rather they take that away from the players. Fly at say 2pm yesterday. Get there for 7 and have a team meal before resting up for today.'"
Wire did have a hotel booked. They went straight there after arriving to pre-game prep. They didn’t leave till around 10.30-11 so there was no 5am wake ups. Guessing they landed around 1-2 BST.
They landed home about 9:30pm BST. They used a private jet, all in all, the whole trip done with 11 hours.
