| I'd like to hear from the 'Powell out' brigade - of which there are/were more than a handful here.
He said he needed to make a total rebuild but even he didn't imagine the implosion of last year. It's also been clear he could have handled things better and arguably he'll have learnt more in the last year than any other in his career - which can only be good for us.
Many on here said he had to win 4 from 6 or 6 from 8 or something similar (I was in the 'show the right attitude and desire' camp and sort of 8/10 after seeing the fixtures), but things are looking good.
It seems like the attitude has changed by getting rid on some 'long termers' and bringing in decent players with the right attitude.
I think in the main that's also been good for those we let go. They've had to reassess their worth and I'm pleased for them.
Stef, Clark, Currie, Philbin are the only older long termers remaining.
So, fair play to Daryl. Well deserved award. Great start and confidence is high. He's doing what he said he'd do. Let's reassess after we've taken on Saints and Wigan.
I think both Salford, HKR and Hudds will all prove to be difficult to beat and Leeds beat Saints, so it's all to play for.

| It took me a while to get there, but ill admit eventually I was in the Powell out camp last season. I couldnt see how paid professional players could completely down tools, i still cant really and I find it so dissapointing that the players who the club was paying good wages to last season, and are no longer with us, were clearly a major part of the problem. I think it had to be a clean slate once the season had finished though and recruitment had looked positive even before it was out, with a few players coming in with a few games left, like dufty and mikaele, so fair play to Powell and the club for being proactive there. I'm sure that there are things that would happen differently given the chance to go and start last season again tomorrow, but its gone now, so best we all move on.
I'm really happy with what I've seen so far this year of course, we haven't looked perfect all the time but we have a gritty side that is difficult to beat, we have been well down at half time (to a team that spanked Hull a week later) and came out in the second half and really took the game to them to win, so the character in the team is seemingly there as well. It feels watching, that there is a real togetherness in the team, which helps massively with performances. I remember when Powell was asking the crowd to lift the players last season, that I don't think it works that way too often. I think the crowd feeds off the team more than the other way around and then it can work together, like the opener against Leeds 4 games ago, the atmosphere was fantastic, but I think the lads being on it and fully committed from the kick off was a massive contributor to that atmosphere. I hope its always like that in 2023, the signs are really encouraging so far.

| I was in the ‘buy props’, ‘I expect 6/6 wins’, and in favour of giving him a season with his own team.
3 out of 3?

| Quote: ratticusfinch "I was Powell out, glad to be in the midst of being proven wrong. I'm not completely convinced yet - I think we need to see how we deal with a loss - which I think may actually come this Friday.
Things are much improved though and as stated we just seem different in our approach and the signing of Vaughan I think has been pivotal - he has the Morleyesque mix of leadership, presence and ability. I also like the fact that Powell is chasing a centre, this team are a classy centre (or two) from really going up a level.'"
You actually think we’ll lose this Friday? Absolutely no chance.
