The thing for me with this, when we (albeit very rarely) broke from the “structure” and “percentage” play of Price, often late in a game when it was gone, this was pointed to be a player led style change, moving away from the instructions of the coach.
Now, it’s difficult to see whether the comeback/strong starts are player led or coach led, and when the capitulation comes, whether that is a player(s) have moved away from the brief and let down the system or whether the system itself has failed the players.
Price, to his credit, got the players playing a clear and identifiable style. I didn’t like it, didn’t agree with it as a paying fan, but it was evident. I can’t see that same following of clear instruction or clear instruction being given by this regime.
Caveat as always, bad apples, them’s the breaks, injuries, grumpy fans…
