| Whilst I do believe or hope we will be a much better team next year. I agree 6 games is the longest we should give Mr Powell next season. If we god forbid get more of the same (which I don't think we will) I would really question wether to bother with my season ticket. I'm also hoping DP will show Matautia how to run forward and not sideways and even to pass to his winger, or am I asking to much.

| Quote Gazwire="Gazwire"The Leeds and Castleford games have better elements for example, a fight back of sorts in both games, and we have

I see what you mean, but I would judge improvement against the point at which he started from and nothing, not one single thing is better at the moment after a full pre season and a full season in charge. I couldn't even pick out 1 player and say they run better lines, kick better or keep to the defensive structure better.
Perhaps they all spend more time training now and less time on outside interests, but that actually works against DP as he has had more time to work with the players than previous coaches. More than anything I want you to be able to say I told you so to everyone Gazwire, but it's tough to keep faith at the moment.

| Actually I'll give you 1 thing a small positive, Matt Duffty looks like he has come here to play and after that chase back looks committed and here to get stuck in.

| He seems to have got Bullock playing well, I'd say that's about it.

I actually think that's more to do with signing 4 new out and out props for next season and maguire who can also play there. Fair play to him for responding the way he has. Bullock clearly wants a shirt next season and is displaying a good attitude and work rate. I don't think that's got much to do with Powell really.

Compared to last year, we are a poorer performing side. With all the changes, I didn't really know what to expect - it's been undoubtedly disappointing. So when I say improvement, it is from the lowest point of our form curve as I've allowed Powell that grace to restructure the squad.
On the plus side, I've been spelling 'disappointing' correctly after years of misspelling and years of spellcheck intervention. Thank you Warrington RLFC for enabling me to practice spelling words, such as this, with great frequency.

| How long in 2023? I don't want him managing here for 1 single minute of 2023. He needs his contract terminating now. Not 'lets wait and see after 6 games next season'. NOW.
The man has utterly butchered the club from top to bottom. As for his diddy sidekick Ryan Sheridan, get him working on the waltzers where he belongs, useless tramp.
Can guarantee next year when season ticket sales dwindle once again that the cost of living crisis will be blamed and used as an excuse for dreadful crowds. But we all know that won't be the reason. The reason will be clear, Daryl Powell. Utter clown.

The thing for me with this, when we (albeit very rarely) broke from the “structure” and “percentage” play of Price, often late in a game when it was gone, this was pointed to be a player led style change, moving away from the instructions of the coach.
Now, it’s difficult to see whether the comeback/strong starts are player led or coach led, and when the capitulation comes, whether that is a player(s) have moved away from the brief and let down the system or whether the system itself has failed the players.
Price, to his credit, got the players playing a clear and identifiable style. I didn’t like it, didn’t agree with it as a paying fan, but it was evident. I can’t see that same following of clear instruction or clear instruction being given by this regime.
Caveat as always, bad apples, them’s the breaks, injuries, grumpy fans…

Really agree with everything here. It certainly isn't obvious what our structures are supposed to be. I'm just hoping that it is down to squad changes because I'll be suing Powell for making me look a right plonker on here if it isn't!

| Quote Superblue="Superblue"The 3 season plan

Two more seasons

Actually put a post up on another thread a couple of weeks and it was basically this.
Unless the beginning of next season is a complete disaster then Powell isn't going anywhere.
It's no coincidence that the new signings brought in for next season have all got 2 year deals - next year is Powell's team being given time to bed in. I'd expect play off qualification to be expected, but for no great pressure on them to deliver any prizes. As long as genuine improvement is shown, then Powell will still be here at the end of 2023 and into 2024, where success will be a minimum and will be where Powell will be ultimately judged.
