| Quote jools="jools"Regardless of what the fans think of Powell and what’s going on there. The players maybe aren’t playing for Powell, we don’t know whether that’s the case- but [uwhat’s clear is that the players aren’t playing for you the fans either, and why would they! [/u
[uCompare that to Wakefield[/u who are in a dire position, with a poor coach very much out of his depth, and [uit’s clear that those players[/u - many of them in key positions it appears are leaving that club at the end of the season, [uare very much playing for the fans.[/u'"
With all due respect you can't compare these clubs in terms of fans expectations.
Wakey play in a ground that looks like downtown Baghdad, with a bang average team (Bar 2 diamonds) on a budget of about 68p and no hope of finishing above mid table at best every year.
Wire however play and train in state of the art facilities, we are bank rolled by two multi-millionaires with a team (on paper at least) that some clubs can only dream of. We are littered with internationals and marquee names who until recently, were not expected to finish outside the top 4 at the bare minimum.
So you see, Wakey fans are happy to accept mediocrity and spend every season waiting for those or or two "big" wins, because that's as good as it gets. Wire fans however (or the ones with any sense at least), demand more from the players and the club because when you have a team with the names and talent like we do, and the amount of money and investment that's been pumped into the club; plus the recent history of success with the LLS and the Challenge cup. That's where the bar should be set.
And if the players cant handle criticism and frustration from the fans after only winning 4 games from the last 19, then they aren't in the right job. 8th time this season I think it is we've blown a 2 score lead in the last 15 minutes. You can't put any blame on the fans here. The fans on the whole have stuck with the lads all season but this last month has been the straw that's broken even the most staunchest "Real fans" back. Enough is enough.

| Quote KineticRR="KineticRR"Everton fan here who can speak on the whole relegation and sacking saga...
By the way, I actually went to the home game vs Saints over the last game vs Crystal Palace, so it was ALMOST worth it. I am a Season Ticket holder for Everton and Wire so I saw the change in the culture from club to fans...
For months we saw our Team (Everton) playing some utterly garbage football, week in week out. Poor squad selections, negative formations, complete inability to defend from set-pieces. Lampard comes in and we get 2 solid results, plus decent looking performances. Even competing with Man City for 85 minutes... Which was our equivalent to the Wire game vs Saints. BUT, we still let in numerous goals from set-pieces which cost us big games. So results-wise, it wasn't that different.
If anyone heard Sean Dyche's comment about Everton, saying "I don't think these guys know how to win", that's exactly what it felt like to me. And that's exactly where Wire are now... We can take whatever lead we like but we have the overwhelming feeling that we are about to mess it up.
After 5 weeks under Lampard, the football had to be reverted to a Sam Allardyce style, so we didn't look any better then we did under Benitez. And I don't think Wire would look any better with a new coach right now either, and Everton still lost big games and looked shocking under Lampard at times. BUT, the difference was home games. As Everton fans, we had the collective feeling that Goodison was going to be our fortress and our players will get 100% from us and we expect 100% effort in return. As soon as we conceded a goal, we remained quiet as expected but as the cheering from opposition wore off, the crowd got back on side with the players, because they needed us. They'd been humiliated all season, so they needed us backing them, to get their heads focused on the fight.
And that's what the Warrington players need too. We only have 2 home games left, but we have got to be fully onside with the players, including during bad performances. Whoever has the drum needs to be going for close to 80 minutes. We need the South Stand making noise constantly, and we have to get behind the players when they make a mistake, concede a try, or lose the lead. We might only need 4 points to stay up, and the best way for that to happen is to do everything that we can to get ourselves those wins at home. Even if that doesn't happen, they need to know that we're still with them when playing away.
The Halliwell Jones Stadium has got to become a fortress. We must get behind the players for everything. Even after mistakes, they need to know that we are still there for them.
For Everton, the performances were hard to watch, but for the sake of our club, we had to change our attitude from the booing and shouting. It had to be done. Wherever you stand on Powell, that doesn't matter. It wasn't even about Lampard anymore. It was just about showing the players that their fans believed in them.
I know money is tight for everyone right now, but if you can afford to go to the last home games, please do. We need attendance, we need noise, and we need positivity. Criticism is understandable, which Everton players got online, but at the games, we're there until the end.
"Wire till I die" has never been so important.'"
Spot on fella.

| Quote MorePlaymakersNeeded="MorePlaymakersNeeded"That wasn't the comment I was referring to. Revisit your posts to me, and mine to you, as that will help you to understand where I'm coming from.
Were all on the same side, and non of us want the Wire to go down, or be worse off than we were under previous regimes etc. etc. but we all have a different view of how this should be achieved, and an individual right to it.
Your insults only hand credibility to those supporters who don't match up your benchmark, of what their behaviour should be when watching a live game, especially when used in a scattergun way.'"
Please point out the insult if you don't mind.

| Shame we can't transfer out some of our fans. Over the past 2/3/4/5 weeks, I don't think I've read, on any forum, such spoilt, self entitled drivel - even on redvee. Even on Redcafe (I'm not a Utd fan), the forum for one of the largest sporting entities; one of the most successful entities; I haven't read so much disdain and self entitlement.
If we do go down, which I don't think we will; the one crumb of comfort will be to know that our sizable contingent of moaning fans will be peeved off.
As a club, our fans could learn quite a few lessons from proper supporters like Everton (I'm not an Everton fan).

and there you have it you EXPECT. you have no right to expect anything, you have just described your club trying to buy success from a bunch of mercenaries who get paid but have no love for your club and will receive none in return.
You still even in this post look down on another club who have beaten you three times this season and may well have saved themselves from being sent down by doing just that - and have put you in the position you find yourselves in! they have done that by sticking together (and I have no love for Wakefield - cant stand the club and are willing them to finally go down this season, but credit where its due!)
When you haven't got what you wanted you have had behaved like spoilt kids and had a tantrum. ........and yet you expect the players to behave any less entitled than you.......... says it all really.
