I think it could be a mistake bringing him over now to be honest. This season is done for Warrington realistically and bringing him in when the team is such a mess with all the comings and goings could turn out to be a mistake.
The talent is definitely there with Dufty. He's more talented than Field for example, he'll score some sensational tries if he gets his confidence up and he'll be as much of an individual threat as you've ever had in Super League. But he's also suffered from a lack of confidence in the NRL and is prone to errors, which seem to compound themselves and leave him not wanting the ball. That's why I'd have brought him in for next season, when he'll be playing off the back of the biggest forward pack UK rugby league has ever seen.
If I were a Warrington fan I'd be very optimistic about this signing. You can't knock the board and Powell, they haven't half gone for it. They have gone from a completely powerpuff pack in the Cooper/Hill/Philbin days that was simply never good enough to win a SL, to an enormous pack that will win games on it's own. You've also got arguably the fastest set of backs in SL history as well with Dufty, Wrench, Ashton and if you sign Wardle. It might not work, it might fall apart spectacularly, but you can't question the ambition, they've put everything including the kitchen sink and next doors driveway and their Nan into winning SL next season.
