There’s a common denominator here. Some of these players have played for Wire for years and no other coach has had a problem with them, now they are bad eggs.

It could simply be tactical.

In order to give Dean some game time against Catalan at the MW, and in the absence of Cooper, he utilised Jason Clark as interchange dummy half. The inclusion of Dean was fortunate due to Widdop's injury and J Clark had a good game. He repeated this against Castleford but, on this occasion, giving game time to Wrench (another fortuitous move given that Dean was forced off with a head knock). The less said about the end result the better but I very much doubt that Walker's inclusion would have done much to alter that.

He has had Covid which has kept him out for last 2 games.

Sounds like Darryl Powell is the type of man we need running some of our unionised industries.

It’s obvious Walker was dropped because he failed to make the grades Powell asked of him to improve his game, and his previous performances were poor, imo after his purple patch earlier this season, extremely poor!

Walker has been training and my guess is he’ll play v KR, because (a) he needs the opportunity to prove himself and (b) because Clark needs to be covered with cotton wool at 29/30. We just can’t be asking him to do 80 mins every week if we want to prolong his career.
I can see Minikin returning this week too, because Thewlis was pants, found wanting on the wing.

Dufty to play fullback at Huddersfield with Ratchford back in the halves and Riley Dean back out of the 1st team… On Dufty, I’m still mindful that the Sandow 6 week quick fix was anything but.
