| Quote Gazwire="Gazwire"These players haven't put the effort in for anyone, so why blame Powell for lack of player effort when 2 coaches over 7/8 years have failed to get any effort out of them either.
Can you not see the common denominator here? Underachieving over 7/8 years and there's one thing in common (apart from the board etc).'"
‘These players.’
Most of them who you refer to have gone. There were only three or four playing yesterday who have been a part of the Smith or Price regimes for a substantial amount of time.
That team yesterday was by in large his team, full of players who he either signed or who will be here next season with his blessing.
Up there with some of the worst performers of the season so far are two players he brought in from Castleford. What’s their excuse?

| You expect all these changes to be made in half a season and the team to be performing.
Better last week and better second half yesterday, there are shoots are there not? Or are you just going to focus on the negative.
We're you a Fergie out after 6 months too? Would Watson have gone after 6 months.
Who are you getting in then? Come now, not one single person in 30 pages has suggested anyone. With all this moaning, not a single, suggestion.

And you say other people are repeating themselves
Just cause you don't wanna sit on the floor doesn't mean you choose to sit in a throne of sh*t as the alternative. Facts - Powell had a pre season to identify bad apples. It took him over 8 months to act on any of them. They have been replaced with his own hand selected individuals (bar Clark and Currie), and we still went in 23-0 down. Seems like same old Warrington to me. Not managed to do much but destroy our defensive structure and confidence.

No thick f@ck, [uI'm[/u having to repeat myself responding to different people posting the same thing - Jesus wept.

| For the sake of my sanity I've tried to distance myself from this, but I really have to challenge the whole "we were better second half" argument, as though it were further proof of improvement.
Until Blair went off, we were better (couldn't be worse) but there was no threat of a comeback. As we did against Salford, we waited until the opposition were down on numbers to start playing - that tells you plenty about the backbone and mentality of this mob.

I assume we'll be seeing a snip in your comment seen as I got one for calling someone a pleb. Naughty naughty. So you get to repeat yourself with a question that literally nobody has to answer in order to be critical of the current jeb end in charge but nobody else can otherwise poor old you is "banging his head against a brick wall". I don't give a toss who's in charge, I'm not in charge of picking anyone and never will be so this theoretical question you are posing is a complete waste of time. Powell is in charge. Powell is who i'm judging. Not my fantasy appointment.

Still avoided the question and we still have no answer. So all this moaning and not one single solution still.
Let me re-phrase: given that Powell has been disappointing so far, would you stick with him, Or would you get a new manager, and who would it be?
Or would you go with another earlier suggestion being: bring in someone who's done some training and let them take charge of a side full of new faces assembled by a manager they've just sacked halfway through a season?
(Apologies for that insult btw)

| If we go into a downward spiral over the next few weeks or even start next year with no sign of improvement, we could go for Richard Marshall and Tyke Mccarthy as the unproven local coach would be popular with the fans just as Cull was. Or we could go for Brian McDermott following the example of a Grand Final winning coach from Leeds (that worked out well for a while last time). Or we could go for an assistant NRL coach (Craig Fitzgibbon or Michael Monaghan maybe) as last time we did that, we got solid defence, a Grand Final appearance and a trophy. Or we could just admit that it is not an easy task to get that first Super League title (ask Hull or Catalans who I imagine are at full cap) and stop beating ourselves up.

If someones not performing in their job. They get the sack. Why should Powell be any different? The changes should make us better, not worse. The fact is - our defence is worse, our attack is pedestrian, our mentality is just as spineless as its always been and no changes he has made have shown a minute bit og difference. There are NO positives to be seen anywhere. So until they show, i'll keep sh*tting on him and he can keep taking it from fans. Seems like he and you want us to sit here and be patted on the head that things are going to according to plan. They aren't. Far from it. You can put Mr Tumble in the chair for all I care, he can't do any worse than Powell is currently.

| Quote Gazwire="Gazwire"Sorry, I don't agree with any of that.
If you pay a premium, you expect premium back, or whats the point in paying premium. We're apparently the top SL spenders and have been for years.'"
Just because you spend doesn’t mean you win. You need a plan to break down those at the top. That’s why Price couldn’t get us over the last hurdle, and ultimately the same with Smith.

Actually, I gave you a list of names. From memory, Holbrook, McGuire, McDermott, King, Ciraldo and Wellens. I also answered this in more detail weeks ago, even months ago, that the right approach for me would be more structured around a Director of Rugby etc.
Hate to repeat myself though.
