I've been backing Powell and still do, but got to say this is very disappointing considering the performances of our 2 current second rows.

I don’t quite buy in to the regard Longstaff is held on here as much as most, but his time out of the side when Currie & Holmes have been so disappointing is strange - there must be more to it surely?

Either way 3 weeks getting some first team experience at Hull will do him no harm.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this a permanent move, Pete Riding will be behind this move and it could be the 3rd highly rated youngster to move from Warrington to Hull in the last year.

If this turns to a full time deal, it could be the worst of the Powell failures. Cooper is approaching the end, King is on huge money but this is a kid who has shown great promise, plays tough and has 12-14 years in front of him. He’s not a world beater, but in a good system, with the right leadership, there’s no reason he can’t be. Letting him go would be an absolute disgrace, and the fans should get answers as to why. Another ‘bad apple’ whitewash won’t suffice on this.

We need our juniors to have a chance and to feel like they have the faith of the club, or just wrap up the academy now.

I remember feeling this way when Jonathan Davies went back to union. When a club legend departs it feels like the end of the world but you always end up coming back to Wire.

The Emporer surely cannot believe that Currie, Holmes, Davies are a better option than Longstaff, because they have proven that on current form, they are not.
