Quote: Paul2812 "The game desperately needs to expand outside of the M62 corridor to survive, yet all I've read on social media is people moaning about the distance, about traffic, how it will fail in Cornwall etc. Baffling. It's like folk want the sport to continue failing.
This is a huge shot in the arm for the sport and has the potential to grow the game away from the heartlands. The only negative I can think of is not calling the team the 'Cornish Pasties.' It has huge sponsorship potential.'"
I think people are genuinely disillusioned with the repeated failure of the RFL to create a sustainable Super League team in a brand new location. Before we have Catalans and Toulouse cited in evidence to the contrary let's remember they were formed 80+ years ago and are based in a long established rugby league playing area.
I would suggest the RFL would be best advised to focus on resolving the falling attendances and RL interest
in the M62 corridor first if they want to save the sport.
