Saints think Moore is the best referee and there is a reason for that, he seems to love them a bit too much and IMO has shown a bias in their favour every match i have seen him ref them. Doesn't detract from Catalans not doing enough on the night, hard to with the incredible saints "Line Speed".

So he wants his French team to play in an English competition and will refuse to play in a Grand Final if the referee is English.

A compromise could be to appoint a Spanish ref, as Catalonia is part of Spain they will be happy to be under the jurisdiction of Madrid. In fact they could move the Grand Final to the Bernabeu so that there isn't risk of a ref being swayed by an English crowd.

OK if it's Catalan V's Saints next year he can have a French Ref only fair.

Turning point - Cats not getting a penalty try when Makinson was sin binned.
I simply can't understand that decision.
Take Makinsons foul away and there's no Saints player in sight to stop a Cats score. Sorry but that was a truly abysmal decision and makes a mockery of the officiating.
There were other incidents on both sides and Cats gave away too many penalties.
Very fine line between the 2 teams on the whole but I can't get the thought out of my head that it was grossly unfair on Cats.

Certainly three big officiating mistakes were made, and the Makinson one was very significant so I can understand Catalans annoyance; they do seem to get a rum deal from refs but then with the Tomkins brothers and McClorum in your ranks that's not suprising.

I was very suprised Moore got the gig though; I don't think he's biased as such, just hugely incompetent even by SL refereeing standards.

With the Makinson incident - where does the VR responsibility start/finish ?

Moore sent it up as a 'no try' and the VR then determines its a penalty & sin bin - not Moore - so was it down to VR to call it as a penalty try or not too - or was that not an option as Moore didn't specifically ask for that to be checked ?

Could always get Thierry Alibert out of retirement
