I was told we might not announce it this week as that would take Warrington to 7 players in the England team for Friday. Apparently each team can only give up a maximum of 6.

I thought Wane said no more than 3 from each team? We're gonna be low on troops for Thursday's game against Leigh. I know he's announced 6 but surely he will give the final 17 by Tuesday/Wednesday so players know what match they're playing in.

Thanks for the information. I’ll admit I’m not sure how it works. I know the rules will of changed over the years, I just remember when we let Chris Hicks go in favour of Joel Monaghan ( turned out not as bad as it seemed at the time) by conveniently buying out his contract. To be honest not sure wether the salary cap was in force then. |

The salary cap has been in for in one way or another since about 1997/8. Maybe a little later.
I dont think it came in at start if superleague.
One thing that made me smile on redvee, someone got wind of our losses this year and was questioning out salary cap as its based against income. That stopped being a thing more than 10 years ago.
Talk about grasping at straws

I read that he will reduce the squad to 19 sometime during the week, but I don't know when. I assume that there will be a training session early this week, so after that.
In the past there have been limits placed on the numbers from each club but I've not seen a figure for this game. I'm not sure whether any of our 'exciles' would be in contention (I can't remember who's coaching them). |
