I’ve watch Mata’utia against us and he defend well from what I saw & one or two other games I’ve seen him play he looked solid on that right side.
Yeah he takes decent carries and runs the ball in hard which you expect from most good centres. As Mata’utia has played at half-back and full back previously on a consistent basis, he’s bound to have a better pair of hands when you compare the two when weighing up the Pros & Cons. Mamo has blistering pace, good step on him and offers a lot of enthusiasm …if you could blend the two players into one you’d have a hell of a player..
MAMA’UTIA
I wasn’t commenting on Mamo. I’ve not seen him often enough at centre to have my own opinion.
I’ve seen plenty of Mata’utia.

| They both look the part, Holmes is a lot more than just solid and matautia is a proper out and out centre. Both of them seem to have a good attitude and work rate, I think they will fit in well and improve the first team.
As much as I love Mamo he isn't a centre, He has gone alright there and I do think we will miss having him in the squad but matautia looks like a good signing to me.

I’d hope Currie would stay where he was, Holmes is an improvement on Hughes, but Currie is ahead of him IMO, so should stay in his favoured spot.

I agree Currie should stay where he is alongside King and put Holmes on the right presumably with his pal Mata'utia as a pair that know each other?

I know that it is going against the current trend of selecting an extra prop at 13, but with his handling skills and speed, I think that Currie would make a superb "Old Fashion" Loose Forward.

A good option as my choice was based on a presumption of Hughes at 13 utilising Currie's running skills out wide a straight swap Hughes for Clark.
I suppose it also depends on the continued development of our young centres and back rowers?
