Just off on a tangent . Aren't Amazon supposed to be taking over a lot of Premier League football ? I wonder how that will affect coverage of RL ? Will sky see us as the best game in the world again or reduce fees to RL in the hope of throwing even more money at football ?
I think PL football is at a TV crossroads under the current situation, with live FTA matches on BBC & ITV mooted alongside Sky games. This will probably have the effect of devaluation of the TV package (and Sky might well lose subscriptions if PL games are on FTA).
RL will have to face that decision too - albeit I think clubs might be better off setting up their own monthly subscription streaming service (if games are behind closed doors) rather than being at the mercy of Sky.
