To be fair it was a bit more complicated than that, he had some great games for us and his support play was excellent but having a half-back with no kicking game whatsoever when we had very few kicking options was not sustainable

Considering that Myler did pretty well for us, there was little controversy among the fan base when he left. I think the feeling was that if he was a big earner we'd be better using the cap space elsewhere. Although it's fair to ask whether using it on Sandow/Roberts/Austin has given us more than Myler would have over the same period.

He is a good player but he's not a difference-making halfback, which is why he hasn't elevated Catalans or Leeds any more than he elevated us.

But if Leeds built a good side around him, or if he'd played for Leeds in their glory years in the Danny McGuire role, I expect he would have been one of SL's all time top try scorers.

Yeah I always had TS back but I agreed that it was time to make a change.

Although I reckon if we'd kept him, we'd have had about the same win-loss ratio as we did under Price. That coaching change hasn't made us any better overall.

Price was a repeat of the later TS era, rather than a return to the earlier TS era.

It's similar to Arsenal going from Arsene Wenger to Unai Emery.

Price has is orders to make our play more attractive. He doesn't know how to do this or get the players signed up to what he thinks he wants. They don't seem to have any confidence in him and his processes. As each game comes along they seem more confused. Back to basics is the only way, defend, defend, defend and take your opportunities as and when they arise. Build confidence and understanding, stem the flow of defeats. Get a new coach who understands the modern game and can command the respect of an expensively assembled squad.

That's what he tried to do last season and that didn't work either! The problem isn't instruction from anywhere but price. I like the guy, I'm happy that he delivered us the cup and turned us round from the end of the TS era but I think we have to accept that its just not working out and it's beyond time for a change.
