Prior to the 50s Saints has appeared in one Championship final, failed in all 3 challenge cup finals, and only had 3 Lancs based titles. Compared to the level of prominence of Warrington, and Leeds (despite competing with up to 3 other town teams and soccer), this is nothing to shout about. Alongside club honours, you need to consider things like international and county reps, and involvement in the running of the game.

I Cannot recall Widnes ever playing at Wilderspool in our second strip.

I think a minor riot emanating from the Railway End would have brought about a swift about turn from the Chemics if they ran out in the P&B. I don't remember that either.

I vaguely remember a game with us and not having the right shorts or wearing the other teams shorts.
But very vague...it was however shorts whatever it was.

It happened, I was there amongst 5000 others.It was the blue jerseys with the letter W on the breast.I have a grainy picture but not sure how to upload.I can email it to anybody interested.Poor quality picture but you can just make out the W on the shirt of Stuart Wright.Proper fixture, not a friendly game.
