Quote: MPhil12 "Spot on, Warrington have to be ruthless and not allow the cup win to paper over the huge cracks which have been there for a while now. The reality is that, with the exception of 2 games, you’ve been awful for a good few months now which is more than a bad run and it’s difficult to see how that isn’t going to carry on into next season. It’s those 2 games which have saved Price his job and whilst they did end with a trophy, had you lost one he’d now be one defeat from the sack.
I imagine the cup win must have been incredible for you all but the only downside to it is you’re likely going to have another season of dross to put up with. I hope you do get rid of Price because Warrington are normally one of the few SL teams I enjoy watching but under Price that has most definitely not been the case. For me, you should go for Ian Watson. He deserves the chance, he’d have you playing entertaining rugby and he could oversee a sustained period of success if given the chance.'"
Price has got Wire to three out of three finals during his tenure thus far. Having won one this year, that's an improvement on 2018. These are the stark facts that get him another year before I judge him to be the right man for the job, or not. Yes, we've been awful in the league since June - that I don't disagree with you, but for me, now is not the time to replace him.
I would be very disappointed if Moran, Middleton and the rest of the hierarchy have not already had words with Steve, and the squad, with regard to playing the rugby were capable of, going forward.
