Quote: rubber duckie "There's short memories on here.
Briers wasn't the gods gift people like to keep measuring Patton too.
Briers came good only after a clean up threat following years of mediocrity, to play playing behind Morley Carvel Anderson's Waterhouse Monaghan Higham Wood Westwood.....
My Granny would be MOS at half back behind that pack...
Patton was behind Tasi and a host of backrowers on Friday that would even be in our 25 squad 7 years ago.
Just get off your Patton scapegoating, Briers sun shines out of his backside garbage, and look at the woods behind the trees'"
You say in previous posts that we’ve got the best team in Super League when all fit. We’ve had that team out enough times this year and he’s still failed to shine or take the game by the scruff of the neck.
He’s played behind a decent pack, he’s played behind a pack on top, yet he still fails to deliver. It’s got nothing to do with Friday night, it’s got nothing to do with playing behind Tasi and Akauola, the lad has played close to 100 games for us now and failed to make the desired progress.
It says it all when your best defence of Patton is to bring Briers down and point out others poor performances such as Austin. Like that excuses the constant averageness of Patton.
He’s slow, ponderous and while he’s not the reason we’re losing games, he’s certainly not the reason we’re winning them either.
He’s not a scapegoat. He’s just not very good.
