Quote: Judder Man "I,m not sure if it was cost effective in promoting the game, there is always plenty of away support anyway plenty enough to give it that home game feeling. Percival mentioned something on SKY Sports that the Saints players are always up for this game of late and I don't think our players look too far ahead, Percival also mentioned they take things week by week so I would imagine Wire are only in their heads this coming week.'"
I don't think it is just promoting the game to Saints fans (who although do bring decent numbers to away games there is always space in the away end for more speccies). Its also promoting the game to Wire fans who were either watching the Saints game live, or in delay - as I was. It also created interest on twitter etc too.
It will also help Sky promote the game to TV viewers, making it seem a bigger event will bring in more arm chair viewers too you would expect, which while it does not immediately generate revenue for the club, its helping promote the sport on Sky and hopefully up the viewing numbers - important with a new TV deal on the horizon.
