Settling down to tonight's offering and it struck me that Super League would be the poorer if either London (who've beaten Stains) and KR (who've beaten us) went down.

Given 1. Toronto, Bradford, Widnes and Leigh probably know 6how to be SL teams
2. We went down to 12 teams seemingly to accommodate the super8s
3. Explaining to non RL watchers how many games we have this season, and against who, is a tough job

.... should we go back to 14 teams?

I can see why you'd enjoy it, but would it really be that big a shock? They're clearly the side in form and they finished above Warrington, which would suggest them beating us would be less of a shock than Warrington doing so?

its got nothing to do with warrington....we know we have a poor side, but this is your best side in years.... and we beat it in the cup final with Ben Currie at 6.

its the cumulative effected, losing to 2 such sides would have.

Your Cup final win was the same as our Grand Final win in 2014, but you played better so didn't need the extra man.

The mental wall is definitely there with Saints. I said it before the Challenge Cup final too, but the first try is absolutely critical. We get it and we're likely to be composed and win comfortably. If we go two scores up in the first half, it'll be over. BUT if Salford score first, well, you saw the mess that followed at Wembley. They score first and we'll probably need a team of psychiatrists just to get the game restarted.

The reality is that saints will win by 12-16 points
