I don't get the hatred towards Roberts.

He was just an average player. I don't think he played poorly for us, that was just his level.

Similar to Patton now.

I think it was more frustration and disappointment. Here we were without a decent halfback in a good few years and we sign Roberts in a very high profile recruitment and he turned out to be a complete and utter wet lettuce, whilst giving the impression that he couldn't give a toss.

Who or what made him high profile though?

The lack of alternatives and good promotion from his agent.

We got to both finals last season and Roberts did absolutely nothing in either game. Very glad he’s not here anymore but wish him the best.
