My man of the match was Gigot for his acting abilities and the way he refereed the game.

Reminds me a bit of the Hull away game last year when the weather caused massive disruption to our travel arrangements, resulting in a low key performance there.

Just before Hill was substituted in the first half he managed to produce three errors within 2 minutes. You would wonder how anyone so experienced could manage such a feat. So clearly something in the preparation leading up to the game went badly wrong because most of the team were also producing error after error in the first half as well. It could have been the 'resolve' ( to quote Price) just before stepping onto the pitch, it could have been the travelling ? Either way it's something that SP needs to sort out simply because we are not going to win any pots if a performance like this pops up on a regular basis.

I think tactically SP also made an error in putting Mamo on the bench instead of Westwood. He knew that this was going to be a forwards battle from Catalan just like the CC final. Drives down the middle of the pitch with Smith putting the ball in the air to pin us in our own 20-30m area. So lots of tackling and lots of ground for us to make in order to get back in their 40m area. Westwood would have been a boon in the first half simply because he gets the hard yards and he is in the oppositions face all the time. SP needed to win this battle first rather than think about using an outside back from the bench in the final 20 min of the game.

No, it doesn't really matter that we have lost a game early in the season, we all know its what happens at the tail end in the Autumn. But this was a game they could have won and for me it was the manner in which it was lost that was really disappointing.

Tom Lineham is a fat mess that should be dropped.

He made a few uncharacteristic errors as did a few others. He big rather than fat.

Gave too much ball away and penalties (there were high shots missed by ref too). Dragons kicking game better than ours.
Mostly a very poor performance with ball in hand, and only showed glimpses of what we can do. Two points thrown away.

Best team won. Far too many errors with dire passes (the one that cannot be named), knock-ons and penalties. Game was there for the winning with 3 minutes to go and we still bombed both sets of 6 with handling errors (usual suspects)

Nice to see some fight in the squad but back to the training ground I think for skills work.

Also some players look like they are carrying a bit of timber.
