I remember from the 1960's we signed Bob Fleet from Swinton. He was an ex Gt Britain centre, although past his best was deemed to be a good signing.
The biggest cheer I can remember at Wilderspool was when he actually caught a pass. Never seen so many knock ons from 1 player.

I thought about Kidwell, but his reputation wasn't that big when he got here, he hadn't played that much for Parramatta. It was after he left us that he went on to be good in the NRL.

Rivett - big name based on one game really but I guess we haven't got a winger so he may as well go there. I remember one of the papers (or maybe it was Ceefax) saying that Warrington had signed "Lance Todd".

Sullivan did have a fair bit of expectation, probably because we built him up as a big talent, rather than him doing anything significant in the NRL.

Put Simms in there for me. Labelled as "enforcer" and "mongrel" prior to joining. Powder puff. I guess he did develop the standing on hand trick.
