| I remember from the 1960's we signed Bob Fleet from Swinton. He was an ex Gt Britain centre, although past his best was deemed to be a good signing.
The biggest cheer I can remember at Wilderspool was when he actually caught a pass. Never seen so many knock ons from 1 player.
Makes Andy Currier seem like a Wilderspool legend

| It's all subject.
As for Brian Carney...well he was a small winger but was fearless so always backed himself...but even if his performance on the pitch warrant a selection, what he did for our club after doesn't.

| Well Rocket didn't come with glitter and I think he was chiselling with blunt tools.
Thought about him but he can't displace Roberts.

| No, him that shall not be named was the definition of flop. Thank goodness he decided to go back to Aus as we could have been stuck with him for 2 more years.

| One name nobody has mentioned who got a fair bit of stick in his time here was Allan Hunte. He was a big signing when we got him in 99 - GB centre, probably the biggest signing we had made since Davies in 93.
He did score quite a lot of tries for us and despite getting on a bit in age, he was still very fit and very quick. He got stick because people thought he was lazy and he had an attitude of not seeming to take things too seriously which didn't go down well given the angst of the time he was here.
Still, I don't think he would be in a flop team and I put him ahead of the likes of Nikau, Rauhihi who had a handful of good games but were more obvious underwhelmers. Hunte had his flaws but he contributed to a cutting edge which the later DVDV team had which I am still envious of with our current team: a team with Hunte and Toa always had tries and excitement in it.
