It'd be fun if players in different positions wore different coloured wigs. should we just just come up with any old idea because it might be fun. The fun in Rugby League should be from the enjoyment of the game and the time spent socialising when friends, family and fellow supporters. Other gimmicks don't add anything to the game.
If Marvel were paying money into Rugby League and the RFL/ISC/Marvel were generating interest off the back of it, I'd understand it.
It might have picked up an award in 2015 but these can be pretty much meaningless if the result isn't more interest or money in the game.'"
I don't understand your objection. The club are paid by ISC for the right to supply the kit ( and sell replicas). This Marvel stuff won an award that brought it to the attention of that business world, one in which League is hardly mentioned and, sadly, Union has another lead over us. No-one is forced to buy this special edition, its cost is not added to season tickets. It's a talking point and it seems good enough for the NRL so why not us? Comparing it to funny wigs etc is your idea, not mine, though I do recall Leeds players doing something with their hair collectively in a cup run some time back.
